About the Role
We are currently recruiting Full-Time and Part-Time Childcare Practitioners to care for children aged 5 months to 5 years. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive early years team dedicated to providing high-quality care and education in a safe, nurturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesChildcare & Safety
- Ensure a safe, secure and healthy environment for the care and welfare of all children
- Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, and Tusla guidelines
- Maintain awareness of each child’s wellbeing at all times
- Support children’s personal care routines to a high standard
Learning & Development
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate learning activities
- Support children’s emotional, social and educational development
- Encourage creativity, independence and positive behaviour
- Facilitate inclusive play and learning opportunities
Environment & Room Management
- Maintain an organised, clean and well-equipped learning environment
- Ensure materials and equipment are safe and age-appropriate
- Promote a culturally sensitive and inclusive setting
- Contribute to room set-up and daily routines
Observation & Documentation
- Observe, assess and record children’s progress
- Maintain accurate developmental records
- Contribute to learning journals and reports
Communication & Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues
- Participate in team meetings and training
- Build positive, professional relationships with families
- Support a collaborative team culture
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Minimum FETAC Level 5 in Childcare (or equivalent)
- Candidates currently studying Childcare will be considered
- Social Care qualifications (achieved up to and including 2015) accepted
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable:
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in a childcare setting (preferred but not essential)
- First Aid certification
- Manual Handling training
- Food Safety certification
Positions are open to students studying Childcare who meet qualification requirements.
