PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and optimizing the manufacture of Biopharma Multi-Use Technology (MUT) and Single-Use Technology (SUT) pumping systems and fluid management solutions. Acting as the primary technical support resource for manufacturing, the role is focused on improving product manufacturability, process efficiency, product quality, and operational performance. This role combines hands-on manufacturing support with engineering expertise to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manufacturing Engineering Support

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for manufacturing issues relating to Biopharma product range of pump assemblies, and associated bioprocess equipment.

Provide hands-on engineering support to production teams to resolve assembly, testing, and product performance issues.

Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.

Support day-to-day manufacturing activities, ensuring production targets, quality requirements, and customer commitments are achieved.
Process Development & Improvement

Develop, implement, and maintain robust manufacturing processes for Biopharma pump systems.
-
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, waste elimination, and productivity enhancement.

Analyze production data and manufacturing metrics to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.

Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and process optimization initiatives to improve operational performance.
Product & Process Engineering

Collaborate with Design Engineering and R&D teams to improve product design, manufacturability, serviceability, and product performance.

Support engineering change implementation and product lifecycle management activities.

Assist in the design and development of manufacturing fixtures, tooling, assembly aids, and test equipment.

Support product validation, verification, and testing activities for new and existing products.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
-
Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new products and product enhancements

Develop assembly processes, standard work instructions, tooling requirements, and training plans to support successful product launches.

Work closely with Production and Quality teams to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacturing.
Quality & Compliance

Ensure manufacturing processes comply with good manufacturing practices, ISO, quality management systems, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Support investigations of non-conformances, customer complaints, CAPAs, and internal quality issues.

Manage concession requests and deviation assessments in collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams.

Support validation protocols and documentation associated with biopharma manufacturing equipment and processes.
Documentation & Technical Systems

Create, review, and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, process documentation, and standard work practices.

Support ERP and manufacturing systems to ensure accurate product structures, routings, and manufacturing data are maintained.

Maintain accurate engineering records and technical documentation in accordance with company standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to support operational objectives.

Support supplier quality improvement activities and technical evaluations where required.

Provide technical training and guidance to production personnel on products, processes, and equipment.
Health, Safety & Environment

Ensure engineering activities are conducted in accordance with company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies.

Promote safe working practices and participate in risk assessments and safety improvement initiatives.

Support compliance within controlled manufacturing environments where applicable.
Education & Experience
Essential
-
A minimum of Level 8 degree in a relevant STEM discipline
-
4 Years experience supporting manufacturing operations within a technical or engineering environment.

Experience in problem solving, root cause investigation, and continuous improvement methodologies.
-
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
-
Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
-
Experience in biopharmaceutical, life sciences, medical device, or hygienic process equipment manufacturing.

Knowledge of Multi-Use Technology (MUT) and Single-Use Technology (SUT) systems.

Experience in GMP, FDA, and ISO quality requirements.

Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.

Experience with validation, qualification, and testing processes within regulated industries.

Working knowledge of pumps, fluid handling systems, rotating equipment, and process technologies.

Compensation Information
The expected pay range for this position is 55,000 - 65,000 annually.
Ultimately, in determining your pay, we may also consider your experience, and other objective job-related factors. This position may be eligible for a bonus or other incentive plan, as well as other forms of compensation.
