Established in 1976, Shortt Stainless Steel is Ireland's largest integrated stainless steel service centre, supplying products and processing services to industries including Pharmaceutical, Food Processing, Dairy, Brewing and Agriculture.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking General Operators to join our production team.
This role is ideal for candidates with manufacturing experience who are looking to build their career within a modern manufacturing environment. We are particularly interested in individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, a practical mindset and an interest in machinery and production processes.

Shift Patterns
Day Shift
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
Evening Shift
- Monday – Thursday: 4:00pm – 12:30am
- Friday: 3:00pm – 10:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Operate production machinery safely and efficiently
- Produce high-quality stainless steel components to specification
- Carry out quality inspections and checks
- Assist with machine set-up and routine maintenance activities
- Load and unload materials and finished products
- Prepare products for dispatch and shipping
- Follow all Health & Safety and operational procedures
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to achieve production targets
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 year's experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in machinery
- Good computer literacy
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience operating machinery, forklifts or other production equipment would be beneficial
- Forklift licence and Manual Handling Certificate advantageous but not essential
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn

- Fluent spoken and written English
- Full permission to work in Ireland on a full-time basis

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
