We are a busy and growing service, and we are always delighted to hear from enthusiastic Early Years professionals who would like to join our team.
Catkins on the Move delivers a wide range of flexible childcare supports, including staff relief, event childcare and entertainment, temporary Early Years services, our “Cosy Corner” model (where children are cared for in the same space as their parents), and homework club supervision. This variety means no two days are the same, and it offers a really dynamic and rewarding working environment.
We regularly recruit for our relief panel, which offers excellent flexibility. Hours are based on your availability and our service needs, making it ideal for those looking to balance work with other commitments. We always try to allocate work as close to your home as possible, although this can vary depending on bookings. Travel time is calculated from Longford Women’s Link and is paid both ways, rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes. The hourly rate for panel staff is €15.60, with annual leave (8% of hours worked) paid in December.
We also have full-time opportunities available. These roles offer a minimum of 20 hours per week, with the potential to work up to 37.5 hours. Full-time staff receive 25 days annual leave, one wellbeing day, and additional company days such as Good Friday and Christmas Eve. The hourly rate is €15.60.
For full-time positions, preference is given to individuals from certain target groups, including those who are currently unemployed or long-term unemployed, lone parents, carers, participants in CE/Tús/RSS schemes, people with disabilities, individuals from marginalised communities, and migrants or refugees.
All applicants must hold a minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent), be eligible for Garda Vetting, and provide police clearance from any country they have lived in for 6 months or more. We provide full support with uniforms and mandatory training, including First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Safety, Child Protection, Mandated Person training, Always Children First, and Food Handling.
We are looking for people who are warm, reliable and confident in their practice, with a good understanding of Early Years regulations, Aistear and Síolta. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team to create fun, safe and nurturing environments where children can thrive. Experience working with diverse and disadvantaged communities, including Traveller, Roma and migrant families, is particularly valued.
