Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Furniture Maker to join our studio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fine woodworking, excellent technical skills, and a passion for craftsmanship. You will be involved in the full making process of a wide range of wood based furniture and sculpture projects—from interpreting drawings to final assembly and finishing.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft high-quality bespoke furniture and sculptures to exacting standards
- Interpret technical drawings and design specifications
- Select and prepare materials, ensuring optimal use and minimal waste
- Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Carry out joinery, assembly, and finishing processes
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
- Collaborate with the design team to refine and realise concepts
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in furniture making or fine woodworking
- Strong knowledge of joinery techniques and materials
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience with both hand tools and workshop machinery
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
- Experience in bespoke or high-end furniture production
- Knowledge of finishing techniques (for solid wood)
- Interest in contemporary design and material exploration
