As our operations continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to support the reliability, efficiency, and continuous operation of our production facility.
Role Overview
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving site equipment and infrastructure to ensure maximum operational efficiency and minimal downtime. You will work closely with production teams to support the safe and reliable operation of processing, packaging, utility, and automated systems across the facility.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on production equipment and site services.
· Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
· Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
· Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, dryers, compressors, and other processing equipment.
· Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of automated equipment, control systems, and plant utilities.
· Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before failures occur.
· Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner.
· Support installation, commissioning, and upgrading of new equipment and machinery.
· Liaise with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities efficiently.
· Ensure spare parts are used effectively and report stock requirements when necessary.
· Maintain workshops, tools, and maintenance areas in a clean and organised condition.
· Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and plant performance.
· Participate in shutdown maintenance and project work as required.
Requirements
· Previous experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing, production, industrial, or processing environment.
· Mechanical or electrical qualification (apprenticeship, trade certification, or equivalent) preferred.
· Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities.
· Experience working with pumps, motors, conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, and production equipment.
· Basic understanding of electrical systems, sensors, control panels, and automation equipment.
· Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.
· Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Flexibility to work shifts, on-call duties, and overtime when required.
· Forklift, MEWP, or relevant maintenance certifications would be advantageous.
