Full job description

Technician - Roads/Transportation

Roughan O’Donovan is looking to recruit a technician with three to seven years' relevant experience to join our expanding transportation team in Dublin

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Sandyford, D.18

About the role

As a technician in our roads/transportation team, you will primarily support urban transport and light rail projects, particularly at interfaces with road/pedestrian infrastructure.

While experience in light rail is desirable, it is not essential, and candidates with a background in transport design are encouraged to apply.

Essential

A minimum of a relevant Level 6 higher certificate
A minimum of three years’ relevant experience in developing drawing outputs for transportation projects
Good technical knowledge and engineering skills
Flexible, motivated and focused
Excellent attention to detail
Capable of producing quality design outputs
Good knowledge of AutoCAD
A desire to learn and develop
Comfortable working in a busy work environment
Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English

Desirable

Knowledge of Irish Design Standards e.g. DMRB, DMURS, National Cycle Manual
Experience with 3D roads design software e.g. Openroads, MX, Civil 3D
Experience of working within a BIM environment
Experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders, including service and utility companies
Experience on light rail projects
