Job Summary:
The Packing Operative will be responsible for the day-to-day function of the CBK packaging activity. This role is a highly focused on food packaging. A Food Packaging Operative prepares, packs, and labels food products on production, ensuring quality standards and safety regulations (HACCP) are met. Responsibilities include operating machinery, inspecting products for defects, maintaining workstation hygiene, and working efficiently in fast-paced, between ambient and chilled environments. Requires attention to detail, teamwork, and manual dexterity.
Responsibilities:

Efficiently pack, seal, and label food products, often at high speeds.

Inspect items for defects, damage, or contamination before packaging.

Set up, operate, and make minor adjustments to packing machinery.

Adhere to strict health, safety, and hygiene standards (PPE required, such as hairnets, bear snood, gloves, coats, safety shoes).

Keep work areas and machinery clean and sanitized.

Complete daily paperwork, including packaging and labelling records.

Move packed goods to racks, dispatch crates or storage areas.
Requirements:

Attention to Detail. Ability to spot quality issues and follow exact specifications.

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive manual tasks.

Work effectively with colleagues and report faults to supervisors.

Basic skills for reading instructions, labelling, and checking quantities.

Strong work ethic with a focus on punctuality and attendance.

Requires no formal experience (entry-level), with on-the-job training provided.

Previous experience in manufacturing, food, or warehouse roles is advantageous
