Position Summary

The Cleaning Operative is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the bakery are maintained to the highest hygiene and cleanliness standards. This role is essential in supporting food safety, product quality, and compliance with all hygiene and safety regulations, while contributing to the smooth running of production.

Key Responsibilities

Follow instructions to complete cleaning tasks according to specifications.
Ensure all designated areas, equipment, and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned to required standards.
Operate and store cleaning equipment correctly and safely.
Perform all tasks in line with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety requirements.
Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as instructed at all times.
Complete cleaning tasks within specified timeframes to support uninterrupted production.
Ensure compliance with hygiene policies, procedures, and relevant legislation. Report any risks, unsafe practices, or hygiene concerns immediately to a Line Supervisor or Manager.
Maintain accurate records and traceability where required.
Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as required to support production and maintain hygiene standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a cleaning or hygiene role within food production or manufacturing is preferred but not essential (full training provided).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
Ability to follow training, instructions, and documented procedures accurately.
Responsibility for reporting any risks, non-compliance, or hygiene concerns immediately.
Flexibility to meet the needs of the business.
Personal accountability for food safety, authenticity, quality, and legality.
