The Role
We are seeking an Assembly General Operative with electrical experience to join our team at our Head Office in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. This role would suit someone with practical electrical experience, such as a former electrical apprentice who did not complete their qualification, or an individual who has worked with electrical components, wiring, control panels or electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Essential Criteria
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, assembly, electrical or maintenance environment.
- Experience working with electrical components, wiring or electrical systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent safety awareness and safe working practices.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexible regarding working hours and available for overtime when required.
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams or assembly instructions.
- Manual Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in electrical assembly or panel wiring.
- Experience working with control panels and electrical testing equipment.
- Previous apprenticeship experience in an electrical discipline.
- Forklift licence or previous forklift experience.
- First Aid and/or Fire Warden certification.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or prefabrication environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assembly and wiring of electrical components for prefabricated fire protection installations.
- Testing and commissioning support for control panels, alarm valve skids and modular pump houses.
- Assist with fault-finding and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Carry out quality inspections and testing to ensure all assemblies meet required standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and assembly documentation.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area.
- Work closely with Project Engineers, Designers and Supervisors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the assembly department.
- Assist with electrical maintenance works throughout Writech HQ where required.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures, quality standards and project timelines.
