Role Summary:
Dawn Meats are looking to recruit a Logistics Apprentice to join the teams at our Kilbeggan Co. Westmeath production facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidates to develop a career progressing to a management position in supply chain, operations, logistics, warehouse, process engineering or planning. You will gain a Third Level apprenticeship qualification, experience with on-the-job training and the opportunity to earn while you learn.
Dawn Meats will pay your salary while you are being trained on-the-job and attend college off the job, and there are incremental salary increases aligned to achievement of agreed milestones within the programme.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be based at our production site in Kilbeggan Co. Westmeath and will:

Develop productive working relationships with relevant stakeholders and departments within the business – this will include Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, Despatch, Stores, Planning and Accounts - to ensure that the output and delivery of products are as per customer specifications.

Assist with the daily planning of food production, customer supply and movement of goods throughout Ireland, UK, and Europe;

Liaise with all areas of Management across our sites and the Group to create a good working relationship.

Gain a full understanding of all relevant roles and processes with Operations and Production gaining experiential on the job learning.

Assist the Management where necessary and taking on management responsibilities providing support and acting as a point of contact where appropriate.

Work with Site Management to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Applicant must meet one of the LAA programme entry criteria:

H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in mathematics

Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g., business, logistics, and distribution, supply chain management, etc)

Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
