Full job description

Bridgestock Care Ltd, a leading provider of accommodation and care services to Persons Seeking International Protection are seeking to recruit an experienced general Maintenance Operative for the Old Convent & Bruach na Habhainn, Ballyhaunis. The position is full-time ( 39 hours p/w), working 5 days per week. The successful person may also be required to work outside of these contractual hours ie callouts in the event of an urgent situation arising at the centre.

General duties and responsibilities include:

Carrying out all maintenance work in the centre both internally and externally in accordance with our maintenance schedule
Ensuring that the accommodation units and grounds are maintained to an acceptable, high standard in accordance with our contractual obligations
Carrying out all assigned maintenance, repair work, and upkeep on the building both internally and externally to include fixtures and fittings, painting, basic plumbing, grounds work etc
Responding to unplanned maintenance issues and immediately dealing with any emergency or dangerous situation
Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out properly in accordance with company policies with due regard to the safety of Residents, staff and visitors alike
Monitoring maintenance standards within the centre and taking corrective action as required
Ensuring proper use, care, cleaning and storage of all tools and equipment
Assisting housekeeping with general cleanup of the building, ensuring the premises is clean and tidy at all times

The ideal candidate will have the following Experience/Qualifications/Competencies

Minimum of 2 years experience working in a maintenance role
Safe pass is desirable but not essential
Full clean driving licence
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working in a multicultural environment
