About The Role
The Kitchen Porter supports and works in partnership with all other departments, ensuring all standards and guest expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities:
- To attend daily team briefings and receive important information about the day ahead, as well as receive your daily assignment.
- To efficiently maintain the wash up area, ensuring all delf, cutlery and pots are clean.
- To take ownership of the cleanliness of the entire kitchen, including ensuring floors are clean and dry at all times.
- To clean and re-stock the staff canteen area when required.
- To ensure you are using the correct and necessary equipment and chemicals for all tasks assigned.
- To assist in preparation of Mis en Place for Chefs when required.
- To assist in unpacking and distribution of stock and deliveries for the kitchen as required.
- To immediately alert the Head Chef or Manager on Duty if equipment is in need of any maintenance or repair.
Hygiene and Standards
- To arrive for duty well presented, meeting all personal hygiene standards, including covered hair and correct footwear.
- To adhere to all hygiene, HAACP, Covid 19 and any other relevant standards and protocols at all times, including while on breaks and in back of house areas.
Health and Safety
- To clearly and promptly communicate any issues to all relevant colleagues.
- To attend required training, both on site and online.
- To report any health or safety issues to your direct manager immediately.
- To ensure fire exits are kept clear at all times.
- To ensure that corridors are neat and accessible at all times.
- To use any equipment or chemicals in an appropriate and safe manner.
- To immediately report any accidents or incidents.
Training and Development
- To attend daily briefings and be aware of all relevant issues, including daily specials, all VIPs, special events and occupancy at all times.
- To attend daily and weekly meetings and communicate professionally and effectively.
- To attend training as required, including online, on site or on the job training.
Customer Care
- To be professional, courteous and positive in all dealings with our guests.
- To be proactive and remain knowledgeable and up to date on all menu offerings, including daily specials, with a view to highlighting any allergens to guests.
- To immediately do all you can to address and rectify any customer satisfaction concerns.
- To also immediately notify your direct supervisor or manager of any customer satisfaction concerns.
- To reflect our values of appreciation and hospitality in every aspect of your role.
Additional Duties
