The role of a Staff Nurse
The Staff Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the model of nursing care practiced in the relevant care setting. The Staff Nurse will provide complete, person centered care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for people supported by the service. You will assist in all aspects of the practical tasks associated with the daily life of the person supported. Brothers of Charity promotes interdisciplinary working and you will have the opportunity to work closely with professional colleagues to provide a range of specialist care services.
This position involves:
- Supporting two individuals in their own individualised apartment
- Promoting independence, choice and life skills.
- Support structure daily routines and community engagement with meaningful activities.
- Delivering structured, person centred care in line with assessed needs and care planning processes.
- Implementing positive behaviour strategies.
- Maintain a calm predictable and supportive environment.
Applicants must:
- Be a registered Nurse ( RNID/ Mental Health desirable but not essential) maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Demonstrate experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disability and complex needs preferred.
- Have knowledge of person centred planning and knowledge of person directed and individualised support approaches.
- Excellent communication skills
