Role Overview
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Technician will play a key role in delivering accounting and financial reporting services to clients in Ireland, Europe and UK.
The successful candidate will have strong technical accounting experience and will be comfortable working across multiple clients, systems, and industries. They will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and preparing some accounts to review stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable functions for multiple clients
- Processing sales orders including liaising with customers and the warehouse team to coordinate fulfilment and address any issues that may arise
- Manage bank reconciliations and supplier payments across multiple client accounts
- Preparation and filing of VAT returns
- Posting and reviewing journals and adjustments
- Maintaining accurate general ledger records
- Assisting in the preparation of management accounts where required
- Review and completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Working with multiple accounting software packages
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Liaising with the Accounting Manager and other team members regarding client deliverables
- Maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines across a portfolio of clients
- Ad-hoc duties as required
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Qualified Accounting Technician with 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong experience with:
- Accounts payable processes
- Sales order processing
- Bank reconciliations
- VAT return preparation
- Journal postings
- Preparing accounts to review stage
- Experience working with multiple accounting software packages
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage work across multiple clients simultaneously
- Strong communication skills
Desirable
- Experience in an accounting practice or outsourced accounting environment
- Experience working with international clients
Working Arrangement
- Hybrid working arrangement with a base in the Limerick office
- Collaborative team environment within a growing outsourced accounting firm
