Full job description

Larissa Lodge Nursing Home are currently seeking Staff Nurses to join the team.

We provide the very highest standard in nursing home care with the resident at the centre of every decision and action we take. We are proud of the service we provide and how we meet the high expectations of our residents and their families.

Role: Staff Nurse

Accountable To: Director of Nursing

Reports To: CNM

Function

The Postholders will work within the nursing home environment providing person centred nursing care and support to residents and their relatives. To promote a caring environment for residents through high standards of professional practice which are conductive to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of the Residents of the Home.

Main Activities

Comply with all policies, procedures, clinical protocols, standards and guidelines based on legislation, evidence-based nursing practice and NMBI guidelines for conduct and professional practice.
Assess care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans.
Adhere to the Medicines Management Code and NMBI Standards for the safe keeping and administration of medication.
Maintain accurate and thorough care records
To communicate effectively with residents, staff and relatives.
To provide support to colleagues by leading by example, motivating and guiding their colleagues in the administration of care.

Required:

Must be Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
Have at least 6 months post-qualification experience,
Excellent communication skills

Desirable:

Previous experience in a nursing home or similar environment
