Purpose of the Role:
The Anu SPA Therapists Supervisor/Trainer supports the Spa Manager in the day-to-day running of Anu SPA by supervising spa therapists, delivering treatments, supporting guest care standards and providing practical training and coaching to the team.
The role is hands-on and focuses on treatment excellence, therapist development, service consistency, cleanliness, communication and adherence to Anu SPA procedures, treatment protocols, hygiene standards and hotel policies.
Scope of the Role:
This is an operational supervisory and training role working under the direction of the Spa Manager. The role provides daily guidance, coaching and practical support to spa therapists while helping to maintain consistent guest service and treatment standards.
As this is a hands-on role, the employee is required to carry out spa treatments as part of their regular duties when qualified, trained and scheduled, in line with business needs and rota requirements.
The role may support induction, buddying, on-the-job coaching and refresher training; however, final responsibility for formal HR matters, recruitment, budgets, rota approval, purchasing decisions and major operational decisions remains with the Spa Manager or senior management.
Serious guest, staff, HR, financial or operational matters must be escalated promptly to the Spa Manager, Duty Manager or senior management as appropriate.
Therapist Supervision & Guest Experience:
-
Supervise spa therapists during scheduled shifts and support the smooth daily operation of Anu SPA.
-
Lead by example in delivering professional, friendly and efficient guest service at all times.
-
Support therapists with treatment preparation, timing, guest care, consultation forms and service standards.
-
Assist guests with treatment information, spa procedures and relevant facility guidance when required.
-
Deal politely with guest queries, requests and minor concerns, escalating serious complaints or incidents to the Spa Manager or Duty Manager.
-
Help ensure relevant guest information is communicated clearly and confidentially to therapists before treatment.
Treatment Duties:
-
Carry out professional spa treatments as a regular part of the role when qualified, trained and scheduled.
-
Deliver treatments in line with Anu SPA standards, treatment protocols, hygiene requirements and guest expectations.
-
Review consultation forms carefully and follow relevant contraindications, guest preferences and product guidance.
-
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, including correct setup, cleanliness, linen replacement and product replenishment.
-
Balance treatment duties with supervision and training responsibilities to maintain smooth operational cover.
-
Communicate treatment delays, guest notes, concerns or feedback promptly to spa reception and the Spa Manager where appropriate.
Training Duties:
-
Plan and deliver practical on-the-job training and refresher sessions for spa therapists as directed by the Spa Manager.
-
Support new therapists with induction, buddy shifts, treatment room setup, guest journey standards, product knowledge and daily spa procedures.
-
Coach therapists on treatment protocols, consultation forms, contraindication checks, hygiene standards, product usage and professional guest communication.
-
Observe treatment standards where appropriate and provide constructive coaching, while escalating formal performance concerns to the Spa Manager.
-
Identify individual and team training needs and communicate progress, concerns and recommendations to the Spa Manager.
-
Help maintain consistency in treatment delivery, therapist confidence, grooming, presentation, service standards and brand values.
-
Keep basic training notes or records when requested; formal training sign-off remains with the Spa Manager or authorised trainer.
Communication & Team Support:
-
Maintain clear communication between spa therapists, spa reception, the Spa Manager and other hotel departments.
-
Support daily handovers, team briefings and operational updates.
-
Help ensure team members understand daily duties, service expectations and shift priorities.
-
Report performance, attendance, conduct, training or service concerns to the Spa Manager rather than handling formal staff matters independently.
Sales & Operational Support:
-
Support the promotion of Anu SPA treatments, packages, retail products and spa facilities in a guest-focused manner.
-
Encourage appropriate treatment, retail and facility recommendations to help maximise occupancy and guest satisfaction.
-
Assist with stock checks, product replenishment and reporting stock shortages to the Spa Manager.
-
Assist with daily checks of treatment rooms, relaxation areas, changing rooms, the Vitality Suite and Fitness Centre where applicable.
-
Report faults, maintenance issues or health and safety concerns through the correct hotel procedures, including Snapfix where required.

-
Follow and support hygiene, cleanliness, security and health and safety procedures at all times.
-
Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, grooming, appearance, uniform and professional behaviour.
-
Handle guest information with discretion and confidentiality.
-
Be flexible and assist with reasonable duties required by the needs of the spa operation.
The ideal candidate will have:
-
