- To supervise the maintenance team and provide general maintenance in all areas of the hotel, working from the hotels Maintenace app ensuring all issues are rectified in a timely manner to a high standard.
- Plan & implement preventative maintenance measures.
- To organise booking and supervise plumbers, electricians, carpenters, pest control and other outside contractors to ensure that work is completed to a satisfactory standard and place of work is returned to order.
- Source suppliers, negotiate prices renegotiate annual maintenance contracts for all hotel equipment, including all health and safety items (Fire Extinguishers, alarms, etc.
- Liaise with accounts to ensure all purchases are in line with budget, ensuring that a purchase order is done and approved for all purchases.
- Manage the hotels BMS heating system ensuring energy & costs waste are kept to a minimum.
- To update maintenance SOP guide for any maintenance or health and safety issues that may arise in the absence of maintenance and be responsible for the full training of Duty Managers on this SOP.
- To reactively alter procedures and fix any procedures as a result of any reported incidents to reduce risk and prevent this incident from reoccurring.
- Monitor utilities and proactively source more energy-efficient resolutions in all areas of the hotel.
- Ensure all maintenance stores are kept Safe, always clean & organised.
- To ensure that par stocks of maintenance essentials are kept for items such as Light bulbs, batteries etc.
- To ensure all tools are stored correctly & securely at all times.
- To set a good example for your team with regard to application to work, work attitude, personal presentation, punctuality, and attendance.
- To ensure all maintenance works in the hotel don’t affect the guest experience. (suitable timings of works/ guest signage/ hiding areas of work)
- To assist with the decorating of the hotel for seasonal events.
Ideal Candidate will have:
- Excellent work history from the hotel sector in Ireland 2-3 years ideally
- Previous management experience in a similar hotel environment
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and be standards driven.
- A good knowledge of Health and Safety
- Have great relationship building skills with the customers and the team.
- Flexibility in day-to-day job demands, remain focused when priorities and practices changes.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Electric, plumbing, carpentry qualifications would be advantageous.
