Job Opportunity

At J.A. Canny & Co. Solicitors, 44 Friary Street, Kilkenny we have an opportunity for a Receptionist / Secretary / Legal Executive to join our busy and friendly team.

Duties

General reception duties such as answering and directing telephone calls, taking messages, scheduling appointments, assisting callers professionally, welcoming clients and visitors at the reception.
Completing digital dictation and other typing tasks accurately and efficiently.
File management including filing, photocopying, scanning and organising incoming and outgoing post.
Carrying out daily banking and lodgement tasks as required.
Dispatch of outgoing mail, including delivery to the post office and/or DX. Collection of incoming mail from DX.
Diary management and planning.
Willingness to learn new skills.
Providing assistance to solicitors by contacting clients, solicitors and various other third parties on their behalf.
Other general administration duties as required.

Key Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate should have 1+ years prior experience, ideally working in a busy environment in a legal secretary role or similar.
Calm, professional and approachable manner.
Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and Practice Evolve or another legal case management system.
Fast and accurate typing skills.
Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team with a desire to learn.
The ability to prioritise and organise workload with minimum supervision.
Multi-tasking
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent with option of working 3 to 5 days per week.

Work Location: In person at offices of J.A. Canny & Co., 44 Friary Street, Kilkenny
