Full job description

Assistant Bar Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Bar Manager to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional looking to take the next step in their management career.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of a busy bar operation, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high operational standards, and supporting the management team.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the daily management of a high-volume bar operation.
Report directly to the General Manager.
Supervise, motivate, and support the bar team.
Prepare weekly staff rosters and manage scheduling.
Order and monitor stock levels to ensure efficient inventory management.
Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly.
Manage and oversee customer bookings and event enquiries.
Carry out end-of-night cash reconciliation and cash handling procedures.
Ensure the premises are secured by completing lock-up procedures.
Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Support the delivery of outstanding customer service and drive sales.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Assistant Bar Manager or supervisory role.
Comprehensive knowledge of beers, wines, spirits, and premium beverages.
Advanced cocktail knowledge and experience preparing classic and contemporary cocktails.
Proven cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead by example.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
