The Project Engineer will support the delivery of capital and site-based projects at our client's manufacturing facility in Newbridge, Co. Kildare. This role will involve managing and coordinating a diverse portfolio of engineering projects across manufacturing process areas, equipment installations, facilities, utilities, and laboratory infrastructure within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.

This position is suited to an intermediate or senior-level Project Engineer with direct pharmaceutical industry experience and a proven track record of delivering projects across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Coordination

Support the delivery of capital projects from concept and detailed design through installation, commissioning, qualification, and handover.
Manage and coordinate projects across process manufacturing areas, production equipment, facilities, utilities, and laboratory environments.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Validation, EHS, and external vendors to ensure successful project execution.
Coordinate contractors and project stakeholders to ensure project objectives, timelines, and budgets are achieved.
Support project planning activities, including scope development, scheduling, risk assessments, and resource coordination.
Drive project execution while ensuring compliance with the clients engineering standards and site procedures.

Engineering & Technical Support

Provide technical support for equipment installations, process improvements, facility upgrades, utility modifications, and laboratory projects.
Review engineering documentation including specifications, drawings, layouts, technical submissions, and vendor documentation.
Participate in design reviews, FATs, SATs, commissioning activities, and project closeout activities.
Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during project execution and start-up phases.
Ensure engineering solutions align with operational, quality, safety, and compliance requirements.

Documentation & GMP Compliance

Prepare and review project documentation including URS, design specifications, commissioning documentation, change controls, risk assessments, and project reports.
Ensure all project activities are completed in accordance with GMP, FDA, and the clients quality requirements.
Support qualification and validation activities where required.
Participate in deviation investigations, change management processes, and impact assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain accurate project records and ensure audit readiness at all times.

Experience & Qualifications

5+ years' engineering/project engineering experience within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Proven experience delivering a variety of engineering projects including process equipment, manufacturing systems, facilities, utilities, and infrastructure upgrades.
Strong understanding of project lifecycle activities including design, installation, commissioning, qualification, and handover.
Experience working directly within GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
Exposure to laboratory-based projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
Experience managing contractors, vendors, and cross-functional project teams.
Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline.
