Full job description

Turmec are currently seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Operator to join our team. We are committed to delivering high-quality products and innovative solutions, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in precision and workmanship.

Responsibilities will include:

Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers or similar) in line with production schedules.
Load materials and ensure correct tooling and machine parameters are in place prior to operation.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications accurately.
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Carry out routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Maintain accurate production records and ensure traceability of manufactured components.
Work closely with supervisors and production teams to meet daily output targets.
Follow all health & safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised work environment.

Key Attributes

Proven experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
Experience with machine setup and tooling changes.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.
Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
Team player with good communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Basic computer literacy (experience with CAD viewing software or shop-floor systems advantageous).
