We are a successful retail company based in Limerick, currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our office-based team. This is a key role supporting the Finance Manager in a fast-paced retail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our daily retail sales data and managing the purchase ledger. Expertise in Sage 50 is an essential requirement for this position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Retail Reconciliations * Performing weekly reconciliations of till takings (Cash, Credit Card, and Online payments) against bank deposits. * Investigating and resolving any discrepancies in daily sales reports. * Ensuring all retail revenue is accurately coded and recorded in Sage 50.
2. Purchase Ledger & Payables * Processing a high volume of supplier invoices related to stock and overheads. * Reconciling supplier statements and handling payment queries. * Assisting the Finance Manager in preparing weekly/monthly payment runs.
3. Bank & Cash Management * Conducting daily bank reconciliations across all company accounts. * Monitoring daily cash flow and bank balances. * Managing petty cash and employee expense claims.
4. Finance Manager Support * Assisting with the preparation and filing of VAT returns (Retail Schemes). * Supporting the Finance Manager with month-end procedures and year-end audit preparation. * General office administration to ensure the smooth running of the finance department.
Requirements & Qualifications * Software: Extensive experience with Sage 50 is essential. * Industry Experience: Previous experience in a retail or high-volume transaction environment is highly advantageous. *
Skills: * Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel. * Ability to work effectively as part of a small, busy team. * Location: Must be able to work full-time from our Limerick office.
Pay: €30,000.00-€40,000.00 per year
