Job Title: Social Care Lead, X1

Location: Supported Living Service locations – including south county Dublin, north Dublin,

Dublin City Centre

Salary: €45,921.70 per Annum, Full-Time

Contract type: Permanent subject to Garda vetting/Police Clearance and successful 6-month

probationary period.

Hours of Work: 36 hours per week

Summary

Reach Deaf Services provides services to the Deaf Community, including a supported living

service, and a boarding campus for Deaf children attending the Holy Family School for the

Deaf.

We are committed to empowering the people we support to live fulfilling and independent

lives. We invest heavily in our staff through comprehensive training and ongoing

development, ensuring they are well prepared to support individuals transitioning into their

new homes and communities.

Reach Deaf Services is currently seeking compassionate, motivated, and flexible Social Care

Lead who’s ready to take on a hands-on leadership role, supporting someone directly in their

home while guiding a small, committed team.

The successful candidates will provide person-centred support to Deaf and DeafBlind adults

living independently in their homes in our community service. Our vision is to promote

direct their own future.

What you’ll do

As the lead support with the person in their home, you’ll:

Work directly with the person we support to live a self-directed life.
Champion and embed our Model of Support in everyday practice.
Build meaningful routines, relationships, and community connections.
Lead and guide a small team to provide high-quality, person-centred support.
Plan ahead, organise rotas and appointments, and ensure quality and compliance.
Act as a key point of contact for family, friends, and professionals.
Contribute to and lead on areas like advocacy, safeguarding, inclusion, and social role

valorisation.

Bring your interests and creativity into the role and help match staff with the person’s

own passions and goals.

What we’re looking for

A qualified Social Care Worker with experience in direct support and team leadership.
Someone who leads by example and values person-centred, rights-based practice.
Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and reliability.
A creative, flexible problem-solver who can plan, organise, and take initiative.
A confident advocate with knowledge of safeguarding, ISL/Deaf Culture (or openness

to learn), and inclusive support practices.

Someone who brings their whole self to work and enjoys doing so.

Essential Criteria

QQI Level 7 Degree in Social Care or a degree in a related discipline.
Completed CORU registration or proof of current application in process.
A minimum of one year’s experience in a social care setting.
Experience in providing person-centred support that responds to trauma,

neurodiversity, sensory needs, and emotional wellbeing, using approaches that

uphold dignity, autonomy, and human rights.

Excellent working knowledge of regulatory compliance and HIQA Standards,

Regulations, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, Duty of Care, and the HSE report New

Directions.

Fluency in ISL signed language or willingness to complete the assigned ISL classes and

exams through the in-house ISL Tutor program (currently Levels 1 and 2) within the

assigned timeframe or commitment to complete them as required.
