Vacancy Summary

As a member of the CCL team, you will be responsible for the development of advanced characterisation workflows for proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides and residual process contaminants using advanced Orbitrap MS workflows. You’ll use your experience in method development to address challenges relating to sample prep, analysis and data processing to deliver workflows for each class of analyte. You’ll take pride in your research, and you’ll be motivated to publish and present your data to show the world what you’ve done.

We develop and apply advanced analytical methods for biopharmaceutical characterisation using our core competencies of liquid phase separations and high-resolution mass spectrometry to achieve our goal. Key Responsibilities

Using your practical mass spectrometry experience, you will develop state of the art workflows for protein, peptide and oligonucleotide analysis.
You will play a key role in the development of advanced mass spectrometry methods such as native MS and charge detection MS for the characterisation of complex biopharmaceuticals including viral vectors for gene therapy delivery.
You will evaluate and apply cutting-edge data analysis strategies to improve data usage and annotation of spectral data, particularly from advanced methods such as charge detection MS.
Create and maintain high quality documentation and you’ll actively publish and present your research outputs.
Contribute to the on-going learning and success of the CCL team.

NIBRT Employee Responsibilities:

Essential Criteria

You hold a PhD in a discipline that makes you suitable for this challenge during which practical usage of high-resolution mass spectrometry instrumentation played a major component.
You understand the challenges of biopharmaceutical characterisation and have proven experience in the development and application of LC and MS methods to deliver impactful solutions to these challenges.
You understand the complexities of MS data annotation and have experience in the implementation and usage of novel bioinformatics strategies to maximise the output of your experimental data.
