Play & Inclusion Practitioner

BeeUtiful Minds — Donabate
Part-time | Approx. 10 hours per week | Monday–Thursday, 2:45–5:15pm
Additional hours may be available during school holidays

About the Role

BeeUtiful Minds is looking for a Play & Inclusion Practitioner to join our team in Donabate.

You’ll work with a small group of neurodivergent children, supporting them through play, sensory activities, movement, connection and everyday interactions.

Our approach is neuro-affirming and child-led. That means we don't expect children to fit into a programme — we adapt the environment and our support around the child.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being with children, can follow their lead, and understands that communication, play and participation can look very different from one child to another.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting neurodivergent children in a small-group environment
Joining children in play and following their interests
Setting up and supporting play, creative, sensory and movement activities
Helping children feel comfortable, regulated and included
Recognising when a child needs more support, more space or a different approach
Supporting children's individual communication and sensory needs
Building positive, respectful relationships with children
Working closely with the wider BeeUtiful Minds team
Helping to prepare and reset the environment before and after sessions
Contributing to a safe, welcoming and genuinely neuro-affirming space

Who We're Looking For

You might already work or study in childcare, education, psychology, social care, occupational therapy, SNA/support work or another related area — but we're also interested in people whose experience has come through other routes.

We're particularly interested in someone who:

Genuinely enjoys working with children
Is comfortable working with neurodivergent children
Can follow the child rather than constantly directing them
Is patient, playful, observant and flexible
Understands that behaviour is communication
Is willing to learn and reflect on their own practice
Can work reliably as part of a small team

Previous experience supporting autistic or otherwise neurodivergent children is an advantage, but you do not need to arrive knowing everything.

Training & Development

Extensive training will be provided in the BeeUtiful Minds approach, including neuro-affirming practice, sensory and regulation needs, communication, inclusion and practical strategies for supporting children.

We're much more interested in finding someone with the right values, attitude and willingness to learn than someone who can tick every box on a traditional job description.

Hours

The role is approximately 10 hours per week, Monday–Thursday from 3:00pm–5:00pm in Donabate.

There may be opportunities for additional hours during school holidays and as our programmes grow, making the role particularly suitable for someone studying or working part-time in a related field.

Christmas off.
