Digital & Assistive Technology Lead – Inclusive Employment
(Senior Clinician)
Permanent Contract , 23 hours
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of Rehab Group’s internal Digital and Assistive Technology (DAT) service, supporting students, service users and staff across National Learning Network, RehabCare and other Rehab Group services to access, trial and effectively use digital and assistive technologies. The post holder enables individuals to participate more fully and independently across all areas of life, including communication, learning, daily living and community participation, and builds the capacity of staff to embed assistive technology in everyday practice.
Minimum Education & Skills required
§ Hold a recognised qualification (NFQ Level 8 or above) in Occupational Therapy, Speech Be registered, or be eligible for registration, with the relevant statutory regulator and/or professional body for the post holder’s profession (e.g. the Occupational Therapists or Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU; the Psychological Society of Ireland for Psychologists).

§ Be eligible for a senior grade clinical position i.e., have at least three years’ satisfactory, full-time post-qualification experience practising in a relevant health and social care profession (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy or Psychology).
§ Minimum two years working in roles involving digital and assistive technology, disability, education, or health and social care services.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
§ DAT Assessment & Direct Service Delivery – Conduct person-centred digital and assistive technology assessments for service users attending RehabCare, students attending NLN, and disabled and autistic employees of Rehab Enterprises who are preparing for, transitioning to, or participating in, employment. Recommend, implement and, support tailored assistive technology solutions, undertake workplace accessibility audits and provide guidance, equipment management and troubleshooting to enable successful workplace participation.
§ Staff Training & Organisational Capacity Building – Develop and deliver training and capacity-building that embeds assistive technology competence among Rehab Group staff, enabling them to support AT use in everyday practice across services, including by developing and supporting Assistive Technology Champions who embed and sustain practice within their local services. Provide practical guidance and accessible easy-read resources, and co-create training and case studies with people with disabilities to support participation, independence and inclusion.
Additional requirements
§ Project Delivery, Reporting & Evaluation – Deliver agreed service objectives and outputs to plan and to the required standard. Apply standardised outcome-measurement tools (e.g. QUEST, PIADS, Goal Attainment Scaling) to evaluate impact and demonstrate outcomes for the people supported, and prepare reports on service activity, outcomes and impact for internal stakeholders and governance to support an evidence-based approach to assistive technology practice.
§ Equipment & Resource Coordination – Coordinate the assistive technology loan and trial system, including sourcing, maintaining, tracking and managing equipment, devices and software. Liaise with suppliers and specialist providers to support trials, repairs and procurement, and prepare funding applications where required to ensure individuals have timely access to appropriate assistive technology. Manage the budget for the resource and loan library, including the procurement of devices, software and licences, ensuring value for money and adherence to Rehab Group’s financial and procurement policies.
