Dada Flooring is seeking an experienced carpenter to join the business on a full-time, long-term basis.
The position focuses primarily on timber subfloor preparation, floor repairs, joists and remedial carpentry. Experience installing timber flooring is advantageous, but candidates are not expected to be specialists in every service Dada Flooring provides.
This is not a position for general labourers, apprentices or trainees. Applicants must have at least three years of professional carpentry experience.
The role
You will work on varied residential and commercial projects, including older properties and floors requiring practical repairs before a finished floor can be installed.
The work will primarily involve:
- Preparing and repairing timber subfloors
- Repairing, replacing or strengthening floor joists
- Working with suspended timber floor structures
- Installing OSB and plywood subfloors
- Identifying floor problems and carrying out practical remedial carpentry
Depending on your experience, the role may also include timber flooring installation, floor alterations, skirting, thresholds and finishing carpentry.
Essential requirements
- At least three years of professional carpentry experience
- Practical experience preparing or repairing timber floors and subfloors
- Ability to work accurately, independently and professionally in customers’ properties
You must also be reliable, organised, attentive to detail and respectful of customers’ homes and businesses.
Experience installing solid or engineered timber flooring is preferred but not essential. Experience with older properties, suspended timber floors, floor sanding or restoration is also advantageous.
