Role title

Financial Reporting Accountant

Your role

The Financial Reporting team within Aer Lingus has an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join as a Financial Reporting accountant. This is a key role with a candidate joining an inclusive team, working collaboratively across the finance function, in a hybrid working model. The successful candidate will be centrally involved in internal and external reporting in addition to championing several system enhancements. This role is a Hybrid working model with 4 days in the office.

Your responsibilities as a Financial Reporting Accountant will include:

Support the integration and embedding of the wider Aer Lingus finance function to SAP.
Work collaboratively across functional teams in relation to efficient balance sheet reporting.
Assist with the efficient management of the Half Year and Year end external audits.
Preparation of the statutory financial statements prepared under International Financial Reporting Standards for Aer Lingus group entities.
Efficiently manage the Half Year and Year end audits, ensuring completion in line with tight timelines.
Responsibility for completion of internal controls for financial reporting (“ICFR”) framework.
Assisting with a broad range of interesting projects supporting the finance function.
A keen interest in technical accounting standards and its application to commercial circumstances.
Management of monthly consolidated accounts.

Your qualifications and key criteria

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:

Qualified accountant, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience.
Accounting experience in a finance function/related group reporting experience.
Good knowledge of regulations and interpretations governing financial statements and disclosure, including Companies Act and IFRS.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software applications combined with general proficiency in IT systems.
An understanding of SAP, ideally SAP 4 Hana.
Experience with Power BI tools (e.g. Alteryx).
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Eligible to live and work in the EU.
Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
Provide three verifiable references.
Able to pass a five year security background check.
Able to pass a 5-year security background check*(or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin).
