KNOW THE ROLE
Our Brown Thomas Arnotts Digital department are looking for and experienced Senior Online Merchandise Manager to lead our Fashion categories to achieve sales and profit targets. This role is also accountable for our growing digital cross-divisional concession business. The role is based in our South Anne Street Head Office, a hub for creativity, style, and innovation.
This role will play a key part in maintaining a best in class online customer experience balancing brand and commerce across Brownthomas.com and Arnotts.ie.
As a Senior Manager within Digital, you will play a leadership role in defining site development that will drive improvement in CVR and wider UX, participate actively and own digital projects across broader site areas such as: checkout, delivery, App and Web optimisation. We are looking for someone who can bring a strong commercial and strategic outlook, new ideas on how to innovate to drive sales growth. To be successful in this role, team management and development skills are essential as well as influencing and relationship building skills.
Responsibilities include:

Responsible for the overall commercial performance of Fashion departments and concessions. KPIs: Sales, Demand, CVR, AOV, Returns rate, cancellations and Profit margin

Strong understanding of stock management metrics, demand forecasting and range building. Monitor closely the online stock availability, working with buying as well as concessions team to ensure depth and width of range is optimal to achieve sales targets and is profitable for online operations

Category strategy development, trade reporting, merchandising, site optimisation, range development and event/camping execution

Strong relationship and partnership building, this role will be the main reporesenattive of all Fashion discussion and when required will represent the entire Digital divisions. Key internal stakeholders outside of Digital include: buying, marketing, customer services, store, and DC operations teams

Developing and driving a robust commercial strategy to deliver on the growth sales and profit targets. Translate overall business and digital strategy into divisional plans that are clearly understood with tangible and achievable milestones that maximise for existing resources and prioritise for growth

Drive the Fashion trading calendar including promotional, campaign and launch moments. Accountable for planning and execution of such, working cross-functionally with support from the Head of Digital Trade

The delivery of a commercially sound roadmap for Concessions integrations and projects, working with the Online Concessions Manager to ensure the effective prioritisation

Responsible for managing and developing a team with various seniority levels

Responsible for increasing conversion rate across the site by leading a strategy for improved on-site search and navigation and product information architecture

Create insights on customer buying and on-site behaviour and share findings and recommendations with stakeholders to drive a data-driven customer approach that evolves with the market, regular testing and adapts based on results

Inputs into the wider site & app development BAU sprints recommending changes and functionality that will improve overall CVR and CX including a holistic approach for both online and offline customer experience to support our overall business growth

Researches and stays aware of marketing trends and in turn making recommendations to the business around onsite experience, digital technology, and product range

Inputs and drives Acquisitions strategies suitable to the Fashion market and brand opportunities within budget and taking the lead and insights from performance channels teams as well as data on Fashion categories traffic and ROAS

Optimises existing digital tools to optimise search, sorting rules, cross- and upsell, reviews and relevant content

Key contributor and lead in site-wide projects, which require commercial decision making, balancing UX and business requirements

Build productive partnerships with the Buying, Merchandising and Marketing Teams and directly with brands to build the divisional strategy and sales plans
KNOW WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

5 years e-commerce experience, managerial experience is essential
-
Leadership experience, working with Executive and C-suite level stakeholders is highly desirable

Experience managing and developing a team

Data driven approach and strong understanding of commercial drivers to influence digital behaviour metrics: traffic, AOV and conversion

Strong customer experience onsite, in-app and omni-channel is the key ambition of this role

Strong knowledge of latest online technologies, industry, and competitive landscape including evolving AI opportunities with focus on efficiencies and improved UX

Excellent analytical skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Ability to take initiative with a positive, “problem-solving” attitude

Ability to multitask and ensure execution with key attention to detail
