With our commitment to contribute to a carbon neutral environment we are always striving to achieve the most energy efficient facade design possible. This goal is best achieved by considering the overall performance of the facade, with the selection and specification of the appropriate materials and with the robust and efficient detailing at all interfaces. To supplement our current in-house design capabilities, we are looking to add a Facade Engineer to our team to assist in development of our facade elements.
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

Preparing conceptual, schematic, and detailed design solutions for facade design.

Preparing detailed designs, calculations, and submissions for projects.

Ensure that the company is achieving and maintaining standards in compliance with UK & Ireland Building Regulations, including Approved Documents A (Structure), B (Fire Safety), C (Moisture Resistance), and L (Thermal Performance), and relevant standards including BS 8297, CWCT guidance.

Liaising with clients and their representatives (e.g. architects, consultants, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.

Communicating and reviewing facade principles internally to ensure coordination with precast elements.

Responsible for coaching and developing Engineers and Technicians in thermal, fire and acoustic best practice.

Maintain accurate details and records, attending site as necessary to confirm installation.

Manage and resolve buildability and performance issues through design, detailing and coordination.

Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to contractor RFIs, reviewing design change requests, and attending site to resolve facade-related technical queries.

Minimum 5 Years' Experience Working within the industry (Facade Experience Essential).

Ability to carry out thermal, condensation and analysis of a range of facade designs.

Ability to clearly define and manage design interface responsibilities across multi-discipline project teams, including architects, engineers, main contractors, and specialist subcontractors.

High levels of planning with an orientation towards design coordination.

In depth knowledge of construction & constructability practices & principles.

Must have strong facade design experience.

Excellent attention to detail, written and oral communication skills.

In depth knowledge of Building regulations essential.
- Knowledge of current BIM operating systems and standards along with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Project and BIM tools

Track record working with clients.

Experience in precast concrete industry an advantage, but not essential.

Self-Motivated with ability to work on own initiative

Education: Relevant Degree in Engineering / Architecture / Construction.

Prior experience with precast concrete would be an advantage
