Gourmet Food Parlour is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and ambitious Assistant Manager to join our team at our beautiful Malahide restaurant.

Located between the picturesque villages of Malahide and Portmarnock, our restaurant boasts stunning coastal views and offers a predominantly daytime role with an excellent work-life balance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional looking to take the next step in their management career. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences, leading and developing a high-performing team, and supporting the Restaurant Manager in the day-to-day running of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Restaurant Manager in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant.
Lead the team by example, ensuring outstanding customer service at all times.
Assist in achieving financial targets through effective labour, stock and cost management.
Manage daily cash handling and ensure company procedures are followed.
Maintain optimum stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control.
Prepare and coordinate employee rotas to ensure efficient staffing levels.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, HACCP, health & safety and cleaning standards.
Train, coach and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding and performance management.
Build strong working relationships with the kitchen team to ensure excellent service and food quality.
Liaise daily with the Operations and Reservations teams to ensure smooth service and successful event execution.
Resolve customer queries professionally and efficiently.
Promote Gourmet Food Parlour's brand values and maintain high operational standards.
Step into the Restaurant Manager's role when required.

Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and hospitality management systems.
Flexible, proactive and eager to learn.

Criteria for Application

Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality.
Minimum 3 years' experience in the hospitality industry.
Previous experience in a busy cafe or restaurant environment is desirable.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
Excellent spoken and written English.
A positive attitude with a hands-on approach to leadership.
