Glenview Car Sales is seeking a reliable, motivated and customer-focused Vehicle Sales and Operations Assistant to join our busy dealership. With more than 50 quality used vehicles in stock, this is a varied, hands-on role covering vehicle sales, customer service, driving, NCT coordination, workshop bookings, parts ordering and general dealership operations.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring vehicles are prepared, presented and ready for sale while providing customers with a professional and helpful experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle sales: Assist customers in selecting suitable vehicles, explain vehicle features, answer enquiries and support the sales process from initial contact through to vehicle handover.
- Customer service: Respond professionally to telephone, online and in-person enquiries, arrange appointments and maintain regular communication with customers.
- Test drives: Organise and accompany customer test drives where required, ensuring all relevant procedures are followed.
- Vehicle presentation: Help keep the forecourt, showroom and vehicles clean, organised and professionally presented.
- Vehicle preparation: Inspect incoming and sold vehicles, identify preparation requirements and ensure work is completed before advertising or customer collection.
- Driving duties: Collect and deliver vehicles, transport cars to garages, valeters, body shops and NCT centres, and assist with vehicle movements around the dealership.
- NCT bookings: Check NCT status, schedule appointments, prepare vehicles for testing and arrange delivery and collection from NCT centres.
- Workshop coordination: Book vehicles with mechanics, communicate required repairs and servicing work, and follow up to ensure jobs are completed on time.
- Parts ordering: Source and order vehicle parts, compare supplier prices, track deliveries and ensure the correct parts are available when required.
- Stock management: Help maintain accurate records for more than 50 vehicles, including mileage, keys, service history, NCT status, repair progress and sales-readiness.
- Vehicle advertising: Assist with photographing vehicles, preparing descriptions and ensuring online advertisements contain accurate information.
- Administration: Maintain customer, supplier and vehicle documentation, including invoices, receipts, warranty details and handover paperwork.
- Vehicle handovers: Ensure sold vehicles are clean, prepared and ready for collection, and provide customers with a clear and professional handover.
- General operations: Support the wider dealership team with day-to-day tasks and help maintain a safe, efficient and organised workplace.
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in the motor trade, vehicle sales, customer service, logistics or dealership operations is preferred.
- A full, clean Irish driving licence is essential.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A professional, confident and approachable manner.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage several vehicles and tasks at once.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle servicing, repairs and parts is advantageous.
- Comfortable using computers, email, online advertising platforms and record-management systems.
- Strong attention to detail when checking vehicles, paperwork and customer information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
- A practical attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
- A genuine interest in cars and the motor industry.
