WH Scott Group is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Metal Fabricator Apprentice to join our growing team in Wexford, Ireland.

This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in metal fabrication and engineering within a well-established and innovative company specialising in lifting and handling equipment.

The Metal Fabrication Apprenticeship programme is a 4-year course combining practical on-the-job training with structured college-based learning.

We welcome applications from:

school leavers
career changers
individuals with a strong interest in engineering and fabrication
candidates who may have already completed Year 1 of their apprenticeship and are looking to continue their training with a new employer.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced fabricators and engineers, learning to fabricate and assemble metal structures and lifting equipment to a high standard while developing valuable technical and practical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Measure, cut, bend, and assemble steel components accurately
Learn to safely operate welding, cutting, and drilling equipment
Develop stick welding skills to a high standard
Assist with fabrication, assembly, testing, and finishing of lifting equipment
Carry out general workshop duties, including painting fabricated equipment
Maintain high standards of quality, workmanship, and attention to detail
Work in accordance with company health & safety policies and procedures
Collaborate with team members to improve fabrication methods and efficiency
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
