Job Summary
We are currently looking for dependable and experienced Relief Milkers to provide cover for dairy farm clients across North Tipperary, South Offaly, and Laois. The successful candidate will have solid experience in dairy farm operations, including milking routines, herd health observation, and general farm duties. This position is well suited to someone flexible and reliable, with availability to work at short notice, including weekends and public holidays when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform milking duties to a high standard using herringbone and/or rotary parlour systems
- Ensure milking equipment is cleaned and maintained in line with hygiene and operational standards
- Observe and report any herd health concerns, including mastitis, lameness, or injuries
- Handle livestock calmly and professionally to maintain animal welfare and farm safety
- Maintain accurate milking and animal health records where required
- Assist with calving, feeding, and other day-to-day farm tasks as needed
- Adhere to all farm biosecurity procedures and health & safety guidelines
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial dairy farming environment
- Experience with milking systems such as DeLaval, Dairymaster, Fullwood, or similar is advantageous
- Strong understanding of animal welfare and herd health management
- Reliable, flexible, and able to communicate effectively
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday cover shifts
- Own transport and a full clean driver’s licence preferred
- Must have the legal right to work in Ireland
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of pasture-based dairy systems commonly used in Ireland
- Ability to travel and work across multiple farms within the region as required

Pay: €14.15-€16.00 per hour
