Full job description

On behalf of our client in public health, we are currently recruiting Social Care Workers to join a dedicated team based in Roscommon. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a multidisciplinary service, supporting service users to maximise their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life in a person-centred environment. Both full-time and part-time opportunities may be available.

Main Duties

Support service users in accordance with person-centred care plans, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
Build positive, professional relationships with service users while encouraging participation in daily living, social, and community activities.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of individual care and support plans.
Promote the rights, welfare, and safeguarding of service users at all times.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation in line with organisational policies and professional standards.
Report and record incidents, concerns, and changes in service users' wellbeing promptly and appropriately.
Participate in team meetings, handovers, supervision, and training as required.
Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and support service users in line with established protocols.
Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute positively to the continuous improvement of the service.
Carry out any other duties appropriate to the role as required by management.

Requirements

A recognised qualification in Social Care or an equivalent relevant qualification.
CORU registration, or evidence of eligibility or application for registration where applicable.
Previous experience in a health or social care setting is desirable.
A person-centred approach with a genuine commitment to supporting individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and teamwork skills.
Strong IT and record-keeping skills.
A good standard of written and spoken English.
A full clean driving licence may be required.

Remuneration: Salary aligned with the current Department of Health pay scale.
