Cnoc na nÓg Outdoor Pre-School and Afterschool is seeking a passionate and dedicated AIM Support worker with a min Level 5 qualification in Early Childhood Education or higher.
The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes holistic development for children aged 3-6 years. The AIM Support Worker will work to promote inclusion, learning, social development, and independence.
This role emphasises outdoor and nature-based learning, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all children.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Individualised Child Support
- Provide targeted support to help participate in routines, activities, and play.
- Implement strategies recommended by AIM, early years professionals, and specialists (e.g., therapists or visiting teachers).
- Support communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and independence through play-based approaches.
- Promote positive peer interactions and encourage inclusive group participation.
2. Learning and Development
- Adapt activities or materials when necessary to support individual learning needs.
- Observe and track progress, sharing insights with the early years team.
- Use supportive tools (visuals, sensory aids, structured play, etc.) as required.
3. Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the room leader, AIM support professionals, and parents to follow an agreed support plan.
- Attend planning meetings and provide input on the child’s learning and development.
- Maintain open, respectful, and confidential communication with families.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the early years setting.
Qualifications:
-Excellent English language required
- Level 5 or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is essential.
- Prior experience working with young children in an early years setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to relate to children and families.
- Creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
- Understanding of and commitment to inclusive education practices.
- Current First Aid and Child Protection certifications (or willingness to obtain).
