Our IT and Systems operations are at the heart of everything we do, and we are currently seeking to recruit a proactive, analytical and collaborative Business Analyst. As Business Analyst you will work at our Company headquarters in Ballyhaunis while assisting our multidisciplinary teams in driving operational excellence and success across multiple job sites.
Job Summary:
The Business Systems Analyst serves as the key link between business operations and technology, ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into effective system solutions. The role is responsible for analysing, designing, testing, implementing, and continuously improving business applications and processes that support organisational objectives.
The successful candidate will play a central role in the management and optimisation of business-critical platforms, including Shopify e-commerce, customer trade portals, warehouse management systems, courier integrations, and their integration with core ERP and CRM systems such as Sage 200 and Sage CRM.
Working closely with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, the Business Systems Analyst will ensure systems are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs while identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiencies.
The role forms part of the wider IT function and contributes to incident management, change control, governance, security, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Partner with business stakeholders to understand processes, challenges, and strategic objectives.
· Responding to and resolving help desk system requests.
· Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
· Analyse operational and financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
· Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for internal and external development teams.
· Act as liaison between business departments and technical teams throughout project delivery.
· Facilitate process reviews and requirements gathering sessions.
· Support system implementations, enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
Business Systems & Platform Management
· Manage and support key business applications and integrations.
· Define configuration, reporting, workflow, and alerting requirements.
· Develop and maintain system documentation, process maps, and support materials.
· Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to optimise system performance and functionality.
· Monitor platform health, data quality, and integration performance.
· Identify recurring issues and recommend long-term improvements.
· Maintain user access controls, approval workflows, and audit compliance requirements.
· Support testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), release validation, and deployment activities.
Reporting & Data Analysis
· Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualisations.
· Create meaningful business insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.
· Write and optimise SQL queries to analyse business data and support reporting requirements.
· Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across integrated systems.
Technical Skills & Experience:
· Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related discipline.
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
· Business process analysis and requirements gathering experience.
· Strong technical ability in SQL query writing and database analysis to support decision-making.
· Experience supporting ERP systems, preferably Sage 200 or similar platforms.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
· Experience documenting business and functional requirements.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
