Full job description

The Pulmonary Function Technologist is a valuable member of the Respiratory Diagnostics
team within the Division of Respiratory Medicine. The Pulmonary Function Technologist
performs a variety of pulmonary diagnostic procedures in the ambulatory setting.

Here's what you'll get to do

Perform routine and special pulmonary diagnostic procedures

Obtain the best effort and cooperation from the patient for reliable test results

Select the best data for reporting according to published standard criteria

Maintain the work area in a safe and tidy condition

Maintain and update the scheduled calibration on all equipment used in the

laboratory

Assist the Lead Technologist to maintain and/or order lab supplies and prepare

monthly workload statistics

Provide education in pulmonary technology to Fellows, Residents, and Medical

Students

Assist and participate in respiratory research

Here's what you'll need

B.Sc. in a Biological Science or equivalent

Registration or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of

Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Technologists (C.A.C.P.T.)

Current BCLS certification

Minimum one year experience with all aspects of pulmonary function testing

In depth knowledge of respiratory anatomy and physiology

Experience in Pediatrics is an asset

Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment

Attention to detail and efficient time management

Excellent problem solving, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

Basic proficiency in computers
