Scope of the Role:
As a QA mechanical inspector you are required to help in the delivery of a zero defect / zero rework project.
Our quality goal is “Zero snags at the time where the foreman announces that a system or part of a system in complete”.
You are required to help deliver your department goals in a forward looking and controlled manner.
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Assist in the development of any project specific work procedures
- Assist in the development of any project specific ITP’s.
- Hold Quality Induction Workshops to promote awareness of the project specific requirements.
- Conducts and records surveillance / in progress inspections of the Mechanical installations
- Carry out interim installation line walks to ensure that the following are being carried out in accordance with the requirements of the relative specification.
- Correct POC Identified
- Latest drawings available
- Supports installed as construction progresses
- Labelling correct
- Welding inspections carried out as required
- Equipment installed as per P&ID
- High point vents and low point drains installed as required
- Correct bolt and gasket types being installed
- Correct pipe shields installed as required
- Assists in final inspections with the construction supervisors as required.
- Complete system handover walks with the client.
- Assists with collation of documentation for the Construction Handover dossiers (i.e., QCC dossiers).
- Inspection frequency as attached in specific ITP’s.
- Quality Reporting (internal to Mercury Engineering):
Essential Criteria for the Role:
- A relevant Third Level or Professional Qualification
- Ability to work well under pressure and within strict deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Excellent work and personal ethics that include trustworthiness, commitment, and empathy
- Confident, creative, and energetic approach to addressing all quality-related issues
- Ability to produce quality written reports
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
