About Argand Switchgear

Argand Switchgear is one of Ireland's leading manufacturers of Low Voltage Switchgear and Motor Control Centres, supplying high-quality electrical distribution solutions across commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Junior Electrical Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with 1–3 years' experience who wants to develop their career within a fast-growing Irish engineering company.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on experience in the design, manufacture and delivery of bespoke electrical switchgear projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will assist with the design and delivery of low-voltage switchgear projects from initial enquiry through to production.

Responsibilities include:

Producing electrical drawings and schematics
Assisting with switchboard design and engineering documentation
Preparing manufacturing drawings and production packs
Supporting project engineers throughout project delivery
Liaising with production, procurement and quality departments
Assisting with technical queries from customers and suppliers
Updating engineering documentation and maintaining project records
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department
Learning and developing proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 and other engineering software

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

Degree or Higher Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Good understanding of electrical engineering principles
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Full driving licence (preferred)

Desirable:

Knowledge of LV electrical distribution systems
Experience using AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar CAD software
Placement or work experience within an engineering environment
Familiarity with electrical standards and regulations
