Annual increments are awarded up to the maximum point of the relevant scale.
Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity. The successful candidate will be in the leadership, management and development of the service supporting adults with an Intellectual Disability. The Centre Manager/PIC will be responsible for the organisation and allocation of resources, for the successful implementation of the Associations policies and the day to day management of the service.

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (39 hours per week)
Location: Kilcummin, Co Kerry
Roster: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri : 09:00 - 17:00 / Wed: 09:00 - 16:00

Summary of duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for two residential services in Kilcummin.
One house has 2 females open 24/7, the other house has 5 males, which is closed by day to attend their day service.
- Support the overall day-to-day management of the Service.
- Responsible for effectively leading, motivating and supervising the staff team.
- Responsible for effectively managing the available resources, within the allocated budget in consultation with the Assistant Director of Services.
- To support staff to train and upskill in models appropriate to ID/Autism Services.
- Responsible for ensuring the provision of a person centred service to those supported by KPFA.
- To be the key communicator to all stakeholders, i.e. staff, residents, management, family and other Service providers.
- To develop relationships and linkages with community groups and other disability agencies.
- To ensure that all staff work in a co-ordinated manner and in the best interests of each person.
- To act as the Person In Charge in accordance with HIQA Regulations.
- The post is evolutionary in nature and consequently the Centre Manager/PIC may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned to him/her from time to time.
Essential Criteria
- Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU and hold a minimum Level 7 degree in Social Care (Level 8 desirable) OR
- Hold a CORU approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary) minimum Level 7 degree (Level 8 desirable) (https://coru.ie/health-and-social-care-professionals/education/approved-qualifications/social-care-workers OR
- Be registered as a nurse in the General, Intellectual Disability or Psychiatric Division of the Register of Nurses kept by Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland).
- Hold a formal management qualification in health or social care (minimum Level 6, e.g., Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Leadership or Management); and
- At least three years management or supervisory experience in the sector, which must include the supervision of staff and volunteers.
- Demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
- Have a suitable standard of professional attainments.
- Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office).
- Be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems.
- An excellent knowledge of statutory regulations, standards, the role of a person in charge and Health Act 2007.
- Good understanding of HR processes including grievances, disciplinaries, people management, communication and engagement.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of flexibility.
- A proven ability to lead and support teams.
- Experience of commitment to promoting community presence and ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
- Must have experience of using alternative communication methods.
Other
- Hold a full drivers licence, have proven driving experience and be willing to drive Association vehicles. When using own vehicle for work purposes, the successful applicant must have access to a roadworthy vehicle with valid business insurance, or be able to obtain insurance for business use.

Highly Desirable requirements:
- Post-Graduate Diploma or Masters Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience and understanding of how to support individuals with very specific and clinical support requirements and a clear understanding of the importance of working in line with written protocols and guidelines is desirable.
