Indoor Plant Horticulturist – Arboretum Urban Green, Dublin City Centre

We are currently recruiting for an Indoor Plant Horticulturist to join our Arboretum Urban Green store in Dublin City Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for houseplants and indoor greenery. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining our extensive indoor plant offering, helping customers select and care for the right plants for their homes, apartments, and workplaces, while creating inspirational displays that bring nature into urban living spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable service to customers, helping them choose the right indoor plants and providing expert advice on plant care, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Share your passion for houseplants by offering practical guidance on watering, lighting, feeding, repotting, and general indoor plant health.
- Maintain exceptional standards across the indoor plant department, ensuring all plants are healthy, well-presented, and cared for correctly.
- Create inspiring indoor plant displays and merchandising presentations that reflect current trends and encourage sales.
- Ensure all plant labelling, POS materials, and customer information are accurate and up to date.
- Assist in driving sales through excellent product knowledge, customer engagement, and proactive recommendations.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues effectively while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
- Support stock management activities including goods inwards, stock control, stock takes, and plant care routines.
- Keep up to date with the latest indoor plant trends, new varieties, and customer interests within the growing houseplant market.
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the store and support colleagues across other departments as required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has a genuine passion for indoor plants, houseplants, and urban greening.
- Possesses strong knowledge of indoor plant care, including watering requirements, lighting conditions, feeding schedules, pest management, and plant health.
- Can confidently advise customers on selecting and maintaining indoor plants for different environments and lifestyles.
- Holds a horticultural qualification (preferred but not essential).
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and enjoys building relationships with customers.
- Has a keen eye for visual merchandising and creating attractive, engaging plant displays.
- Experience in horticultural retail, garden centres, floristry, plant shops, or retail is desirable but not essential.
- Is enthusiastic about continuous learning and staying informed about new indoor plant varieties, trends, and care techniques.
