Company

Whelan Accountancy is Accountancy and Financial Practice based in Cork for the past 18 years. As a result of its growing base of Clients it now requires the following position to be filled:

1. Bookkeeper & Administrator

Job brief

Managing Clients on a daily basis in terms of their Book Keeping and Administrative requirements. You will be part of a team of professionals working to ensure the highest quality of service is provided to all Clients.

Preparing financial statements and reporting are a large part of the day-to-day work.

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Book Keeping principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

· Book Keeping processing ( Sales , Purchases, Bank)

· Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded

· Update accounts receivable and issue invoices

· Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations

· Assist in the processing of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial statements

· Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned

· Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed

· Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports

· Assist with other accounting projects

Requirements

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Excellent organizing abilities

· Great attention to detail

· Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen

· Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. SAGE)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From €32,500.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

Cork, County Cork: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:

Leaving Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
Finance: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
