Full job description

One Arena is looking for a Personal Trainer to join our coaching team in Cork.

We currently have permanent coaching hours available across our Pouladuff Road and Passage West clubs. Depending on the successful candidate’s availability, the position may be based primarily at one club or include an agreed combination of both locations.

We can offer between 15 and 30 guaranteed hours per week. Applicants seeking approximately 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours are welcome to apply.

Your regular hours, primary location and working schedule will be agreed before you start.

This is an employed coaching position, not a self-employed rental arrangement.

What you will do

Deliver high-quality small-group personal training sessions.
Coach members of different ages, abilities and experience levels.
Welcome and support new members during their onboarding.
Build strong and genuine relationships with members.
Complete member check-ins, progress reviews and goal-setting conversations.
Support member attendance, engagement and retention.
Help members train safely, consistently and confidently.
Maintain excellent coaching, cleanliness and presentation standards.
Complete agreed member-care and administrative responsibilities.
Participate in regular coaching feedback, training and CPD.
Contribute positively to the One Arena team and club culture.

Previous experience is beneficial, but attitude, reliability and the ability to connect with people are equally important to us.

Essential requirements

Applicants must:

Hold a recognised Personal Training qualification before starting employment.
Have the legal right to work the agreed hours in Ireland.
Currently live in Cork or within reliable commuting distance.
Be available for an agreed combination of early mornings, evenings and Saturdays.
Be able to travel reliably to the location or locations agreed during recruitment.

A car is not essential for candidates based at Pouladuff Road. Candidates accepting Passage West hours must have a reliable way of travelling to that club for all agreed shifts.

Previous personal training, group coaching, sports coaching or customer-facing experience is preferred but not essential. We will consider an exceptional newly qualified coach with strong communication skills, professionalism and a genuine willingness to learn.

Locations

We currently have hours available at:

Pouladuff Road, Cork
Passage West, Cork

Applicants should clearly state whether they are available for Pouladuff Road, Passage West or both locations.

Our immediate requirement includes Passage West. However, we are also open to appointing an excellent candidate who is better suited to Pouladuff Road.

Working hours

This is a permanent part-time position offering between 15 and 30 guaranteed hours per week.

The available timetable includes a combination of:

Early-morning coaching.
Daytime member-care and club responsibilities.
Evening coaching.
Some Saturday mornings.
No Sunday work.

You do not need to be available for every possible shift. However, you must be able to attend the specific weekly schedule agreed during recruitment consistently.

Pay

The position pays €17–€20 per hour, depending on relevant experience, qualifications and demonstrated coaching ability.

A newly qualified or developing coach may begin at the lower end of the range. A higher starting rate may be offered to someone with relevant experience who can coach confidently and independently.
