Job Summary

Mardyke Arena UCC is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Class Instructor to join our Gym Team.

The successful candidate will deliver safe, engaging and motivating group fitness classes while providing an exceptional member experience. You will inspire participants of all fitness levels through professional coaching, excellent customer service and a passion for health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver safe, effective and enjoyable group fitness classes in line with industry best practice.
Provide clear instruction, coaching and exercise modifications suitable for all fitness levels.
Motivate and engage members to help them achieve their fitness goals.
Encourage progression while maintaining safe exercise technique.
Report equipment faults and health & safety concerns promptly.
Follow all Mardyke Arena UCC operational procedures and policies.
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions.
Maintain professional standards of appearance and behaviour at all times.

Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience teaching a variety of group fitness classes.
Recognised Group Fitness Instructor Qualification (EQF Level 3 or equivalent).
Current CPR/AED and Occupational First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance (where applicable).

Desirable Qualifications

Level 3 Personal Trainer Qualification
Indoor Cycling Certification
Kettlebell Instructor Qualification
Pilates and/or Reformer Pilates Qualification
Barre Instructor Qualification

Experience Required

Applicants should have experience delivering a broad range of studio classes, including:

Strength & Toning
Kettlebell Training
Indoor Cycling (Spinning)
Functional Fitness
Circuit Training
Core Conditioning
HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)
Body Conditioning
Mobility & Flexibility Classes

Skills & Competencies

Excellent communication and motivational skills.
Ability to adapt classes for participants of varying fitness levels and abilities.
Professional, enthusiastic and reliable.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Flexible and willing to cover classes where possible.
Committed to ongoing professional development.

Working Hours

Hours are based on the studio timetable and may include mornings, evenings and weekends. Flexibility is essential.
