Full Time Hours, Permanent Contract.
The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) will report to the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 and is accountable to the Assistant Director of Nursing and the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities Include:

Establish and maintain caring and therapeutic interpersonal relationships with individuals, clients, groups and communities

Ensure confidentiality on all clinical and non clinical information.

Provide a high standard of professional and clinical leadership in all aspects of nursing care

Act as a positive and accountable role model in providing direct patient care
-
In consultation with the Clinical Nurse Manager II assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidence based nursing practices.

Develop leadership skills to create a suitable environment and effective team working

Ensure new members to the clinical area are made feel welcome and a have adequate support
-
Seek help and advice from the Clinical Nurse Manager II as appropriate.

Ensure that delegation is appropriate to the skill level and knowledge of the individual to whom the task is delegated

Engage in continuing professional development by keeping up to date with nursing literature, recent nursing research and new developments in nursing management, education and practice and to attend staff study days as considered appropriate

Provide a high level of professional and clinical leadership

Provide supervision and assist in the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes of staff and assigned students

Carry out Performance Management reviews. Ensure all performance deficits are addressed in a timely manner

Ensure that modern standards of clinical nursing care are in operation and that regular monitoring of Nursing and para- nursing care is undertaken through audit

Use the outcomes of audit to develop action plans and support their implementation

Foster a culture of audit and action based outcomes
Eligibility Criteria:
-
Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

Provide evidence of clinical and professional managerial ability, leadership, communication and organizational skills.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Recent acute experience desirable.

Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development.

Have at least 3 years post registration fulltime experience (or an aggregate of 3 years post registration full time experience) of which 1 year post registration full time experience (or an aggregate of 1 years post registration full time experience) must be in the speciality or related area.
