Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Ward Lists: Print On Call List and Portering List on iPMS each day. Email the Visitors List.

Liaise with the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) on Ward re any specific duties required.

Maintain/Update Health Care Records (HCRs) as required including sorting HCRs, filing documentation, preparing documents/labels, dividing large HCRs, merging files and tracking location of HCR to Ward on iPMS.

Email Medical Records re any HCRs required.

Record Estimated Dates of Discharge. Liaise with CNM re daily discharges and updated iPMS accordingly.

Update Ward Census on iPMS. Update iPMS re transfers to CUH PM Room. Ensure iPMS is updated re location of HCR.

Transfer patients from Ward to Ward on iPMS and change Consultant if required.

Ensure NCHD/Consultants sign iLAB Reports and liaise with Medical Secretary if necessary. Ensure all signed reports are filed in the HCR.

File all paperwork on discharged patients and track to shelf for HIPE and label accordingly.

Compile Stores Sheet and email to Stores.

Email Outpatients Department (OPD) re follow-up patient appointments.

Answer phone calls throughout the day and transfer to Nursing Team if necessary.

Fax, photocopy and take post to Post Room

Assist with training of new Ward Clerks.

Follow up on getting Insurance Forms signed for the Emergency Department.

Clean phones, computer, chart trolley and Writing Room daily.
- General Reception Duties and deal with the public and other departments as necessary.

Any other duties that may be assigned, such as Ward Cross Cover.
