ProSolar is part of RVR Energy Technology Group, a well-established family business with over 40 years of experience in the energy sector, based in the South-West of Ireland. With more than 1,100 solar installations completed by our in-house installation crews, ProSolar is one of Ireland's leading solar PV installers. We are known for delivering premium quality installations, embracing cutting-edge technology, and setting the benchmark for quality.
The Role We're looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented installer to join our solar installation crew, with a clear path to becoming a Crew Lead within 6-12 months. Working alongside our Installation Manager, you'll learn to install, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV systems across domestic, commercial, and agricultural projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in roofing, carpentry, or a similar trade — someone who takes pride in quality work and is comfortable working at heights.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of solar PV panels, mounting systems, batteries and associated components.
- Support site preparation tasks such as measurements, layout planning, and safety checks.
- Follow installation plans and safety protocols under the guidance of the Installation Manager.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work site, ensuring tools and materials are used safely.
- Communicate clearly with the team and report any issues or needs on site.
- Complete necessary documentation such as safety checklists and job records.
- As you progress, take responsibility for running jobs and mentoring junior crew.
Location & Travel A company van will be provided, and you'll travel directly to sites each morning from home. You'll operate mainly within a 90-minute drive of Cork City, with occasional overnights required further afield.
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary: Based on your experience and responsibilities, with potential progression to job-based pay over time as you take on Crew Lead responsibilities.
- Guaranteed Pay: Your pay remains consistent even if work is delayed due to weather.
- Company Van: Provided for travel to and from sites.
- Training & Development: Structured training on-site with our experienced team, including manufacturer certifications and the SEAI solar PV registration pathway.
- Career Progression: Clear path to a Crew Lead role within 6-12 months, with opportunity to grow further as the business expands.
- Quality-First Approach: Our jobs are scheduled with the time needed to do them properly. We don't cut corners and we back our crews to stand over their work.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in roofing, carpentry, or construction.
- Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and Working at Heights certifications (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- Comfortable and confident working at heights on a variety of roof types.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Prior experience in solar PV installation is a strong advantage, but not essential.
