Carleton Cakes is an Irish owned family company specializing in the production of pre-portioned tray-bakes for our Carleton brand and are also proud to be associated with a number of the largest retail and coffee shops chains throughout Ireland and the UK.
We are seeking an NPD Assistant to join our successful and growing business on full time 12 month Maternity cover. The ideal candidate will have experience in the FMCG sector (preferably bakery) and understand the current trends and developments of this market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new recipes in the NPD test kitchen and improve on existing ones with the guidance of the NPD Team Leader.
- Prepare samples for customer presentations, ensuring top quality within the desired target limits
- Liaise with other departments including production, packing, quality and engineering to progress live projects.
- Monitoring shelf life testing of new and existing products.
- Maintain the relevant NPD paperwork to ensure full traceability.
Requirements:
- 1 year NPD experience or previous experience as a chef/baker
- 3rd level Food Science qualification or equivalent
- Working knowledge of BRC, HACCP and food legislation an advantage
- Attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Organised and conscientious
- Ability to learn quickly and be self-motivated
- Good decision-making skills
- Possess competent PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
